Wyncoat® DIS-8290 – Waterborne Wetting and Dispersing Agent

Wyncoat® DIS-8290 is a versatile waterborne dispersing agent based on high-molecular block copolymer with pigment-affinic groups. It delivers excellent wetting and dispersing performance for most inorganic and organic pigments on the market, and shows outstanding color development especially for organic red pigments.

1. Product Data

  • Appearance: Yellow transparent liquid
  • Active content: 40%
  • Solvent: Water
  • Acid value: 7–15 mgKOH/g

2. Dispersing and Viscosity Reduction

Wyncoat® DIS-8290 is suitable for milling and dispersing various pigment concentrates, with excellent viscosity-lowering efficiency.

The table below compares viscosity values (mPa·s) in typical waterborne pigment slurries:
Item TiO₂ Carbon Black C311 PR254 Red PY139 Yellow Phthalo Blue
DIS-8290 295.00 155.00 410.00 203.00 107.00
Competitor 293.00 190.00 363.00 185.00 120.00

DIS-8290 achieves strong viscosity reduction in both organic and inorganic pigment slurries, particularly outstanding for carbon black.

3. Coating Film Properties

Tests in waterborne resin systems confirm Wyncoat® DIS-8290 supports excellent color development, gloss and haze reduction. Performance is especially strong for organic red pigments.
