SE‑7009, a polyalkyl‑alkylaryl siloxane emulsion, is newly launched for metal forming processes.

It delivers excellent release performance while preserving workpieces’ compatibility for follow‑up coating, bonding and electroplating operations for aluminum alloy manufacturing.

Can SE‑7009 Water‑Based Release Agent Boost Efficiency for Metal Forming Production?

A new release agent SE‑7009 has been launched, specially developed for metal forming processes with balanced release performance and perfect post‑processing compatibility. Formulated as polyalkyl‑alkylaryl siloxane water‑based emulsion, this product adopts mature modified silicone technology to address long‑standing industry pain points caused by conventional release agents, such as adverse impacts on subsequent coating, bonding and electroplating. It provides high‑performance auxiliary solutions for aluminum alloy casting and extrusion processing.

SE‑7009 appears as milky‑white liquid with stable technical specifications and solid content of 52±3%. Built upon non‑ionic emulsification system, it delivers outstanding formulation compatibility. Compared with conventional release agents, SE‑7009 features multiple prominent strengths. It achieves high release efficiency at lower dosage to cut customers’ auxiliary‑agent costs. The emulsion tolerates dilution and high‑shear conditions, resisting demulsification and delamination during circulating use on production lines, which makes it ideal for automated continuous manufacturing.

Tailored for downstream processing requirements, parts demolded with SE‑7009 are fully compatible with subsequent coating, painting, bonding, electroplating and other surface‑treatment procedures. In addition, it shows excellent compounding capability and can be flexibly blended with other release additives to meet customized requirements of diverse forming scenarios for workpieces requiring post‑treatment.

For real‑world industrial applications, SE‑7009 is mainly applied in molding, casting and extrusion of aluminum and aluminum alloys. During aluminum alloy forming, adhesion between molds and blanks frequently triggers surface defects of finished parts and shortens mold service life. SE‑7009 forms a uniform, thin and effective isolating film on mold surfaces for smooth demolding, keeping workpieces with intact and clean surfaces. It greatly reduces defect rates and extends mold service life.

With eco‑friendly water‑based system and superior process adaptability, SE‑7009 overcomes drawbacks of traditional silicone‑based release agents.
