Description

Siemtcoat® SF501
Silicone Release Coating for Double-Sided Coating

Siemtcoat® SF501 stands as a cutting-edge, solventless silicone release coating, meticulously engineered for optimal performance on double-sided PE coated paper. It ensures consistently stable release forces and superior anchorage performance, guaranteeing dependable adhesion alongside flawless release properties, even under the most demanding conditions. This innovative coating significantly boosts production efficiency while minimizing waste. Moreover, its solvent-free formulation brings substantial ecological benefits, firmly positioning it as the ideal solution for high-volume manufacturing processes.

General

A three-component solventless system, specially designed for PEK etc. substrate coatings.
We recommend the following formula:
Siemtcoat® SF501-Base Polymer
Siemtcoat® 8982-Crosslinker
Siemtcoat® 5000-Catalyst

Application

Siemtcoat® SF501 is specially designed for PEK etc. substrate coatings. The dosage of each component should be adjusted based on specific process conditions and application requirements. After thoroughly mixing the components, apply the coating to the substrate surface for curing to achieve the target release profile.

Processing

When applying Siemtcoat® SF501 into the Siemtcoat system, please strictly adhere to the following mixing procedure:

  1. Weigh the base polymer Siemtcoat® SF501---XX parts.
  2. Weighthe crosslinker Siemtcoat® 8982---XX
  3.  Add the weighed crosslinker and thoroughly mix to ensure complete dispersion.
  4.  Weigh the catalyst Siemtcoat® 5000---XX parts, and add it during mixing.
(Attention: Do not mix the crosslinker and catalyst directly, as a dramatic reaction will occur.)
  5.  Continue mixing until the catalyst achieves a uniform distribution throughout the mixture.

Bath life

The bath life of all Siemtcoat systems depends on formulation, equipment, mixing process, temperature, and environment. Siemtcoat® SF501 only does not alter its original bath life, typically lasting about 5 hours at 40℃.

Release force

Release force performance depends on multiple factors.
We measure release force using different substrates and adhesives to define its characteristics. While the standard release force measure could use standard tape to measure.
Typical release force performance:
Tesa Tape 7475 (23℃): 10 to 20 g/25mm (0.3 m/min peeling speed)

Curing

The curing results of the Siemtcoat system depend primarily on the formulation, substrate quality, curing temperature, and oven efficiency. We obtained the following results:

Temperature Substrate Curing time
120℃ Glassine <14 s
PEK <12 s

(Curing time is defined as the minimum curing duration without any smear, rub-off, or migration of the release coating layer.)
